DESCRIPTION:Rescue Task Force Training\n16 hour course (EMS Con-Ed credits available)\nOpen to all First Responders\nFire\, Rescue\, EMS and Law Enforcement \n  \nModified training schedule to accommodate both career and volunteer responders as follows-  \nClassroom Dates– All classroom offerings will take place at the Elysburg Fire Department\, 1 East Mill Street Elysburg\, PA 17824. \nDay 1 Part 1 (4 hours) offered over 4 sessions November 4\, and 6\, 2024; 8:00am-12:00 or 6:00-10:00pm. \nDay 1 Part 2 (4 hours) offered over 4 sessions November 12\, and 14\, 2024; 8:00am-12:00 or 6:00-10:00pm. \nPractical Date– The practical portion will take place at the Lake Glory Campground\, 96 Eisenhower Road\, Catawissa\, PA 17820. \nDay 2 (8 hours) November 16\, 2024\, 8:00am-4:00pm \n  \nThis course is designed to teach students the four main methods of warm zone care during active violence incidents. Driving tactics as well as a reasonable expectation for success during active violence incidents will be discussed. This course will expose law enforcement\, fire and rescue personnel\, as well as other public safety partners to operating in a warm zone environment to provide point of wounding care to patients. Tactical Emergency Casualty Care lessons will be provided so that all participants can provide appropriate point of wounding care. Discussions will include command and control considerations\, including the establishment of unified command\, common operating language\, and essential on scene functions that must be performed for the incident to be successful.

DESCRIPTION:Mass-Casualty Incident Management Seminar \nPresented by \nA.J. Heightman\, MPA\, EMT-P \nEditor\, JEMS (Journal of Emergency Medical Services) \nJune 22-23\, 2024- 8:00am-4:30pm- Elysburg Fire Department \nThis course is designed for anyone involved in delivering emergency services as a result of a mass-casualty incident. A community’s EMS\, fire\, rescue\, police\, aeromedical\, fire-police\, emergency department\, and dispatch center personnel should attend since joint response and coordination is crucial to the successful managing of any multiple-victim incident whether it be a bus accident\, explosion\, or active shooter incident at a school or mall. \nThis Mass-Casualty Incident Management Seminar offers the participants an equal amount of didactic and practical demonstrations\, ensuring that the students understand and appreciate the proper principles and procedures for successfully managing mass casualty incidents. \nParticipants will be provided with factual and graphic information along with examples of how to manage and/or function cooperatively at actual\, or potential\, mass-casualty incidents. Participants will also learn the roles and responsibilities of each key command officer and participating agency at mass-casualty incidents. \nEmphasis will be placed on procedures and techniques that can be implemented easily and inexpensively to expedite patient care\, identification\, removal and distribution from the scenes encountered.
