Tactical Emergency Casualty Care lessons will be provided so that all participants can provide appropriate point of wounding care. A community’s EMS\, fire\, rescue\, police\, aeromedical\, fire-police\, emergency department\, and dispatch center personnel should attend since joint response and coordination is crucial to the successful managing of any multiple-victim incident whether it be a bus accident\, explosion\, or active shooter incident at a school or mall. \nThis Mass-Casualty Incident Management Seminar offers the participants an equal amount of didactic and practical demonstrations\, ensuring that the students understand and appreciate the proper principles and procedures for successfully managing mass casualty incidents. \nParticipants will be provided with factual and graphic information along with examples of how to manage and/or function cooperatively at actual\, or potential\, mass-casualty incidents. Participants will also learn the roles and responsibilities of each key command officer and participating agency at mass-casualty incidents. \nEmphasis will be placed on procedures and techniques that can be implemented easily and inexpensively to expedite patient care\, identification\, removal and distribution from the scenes encountered.

DESCRIPTION:Rescue Task Force Training\n16 hour course (EMS Con-Ed credits available)\nOpen to all First Responders\nFire\, Rescue\, EMS and Law Enforcement \nApril 29-30\, 2023- 8:00am-4:00pm \nThis course is designed to teach students the four main methods of warm zone care during active violence incidents. Driving tactics as well as a reasonable expectation for success during active violence incidents will be discussed. This course will expose law enforcement\, fire and rescue personnel\, as well as other public safety partners to operating in a warm zone environment to provide point of wounding care to patients. Tactical Emergency Casualty Care lessons will be provided so that all participants can provide appropriate point of wounding care. Discussions will include command and control considerations\, including the establishment of unified command\, common operating language\, and essential on scene functions that must be performed for the incident to be successful.

SUMMARY:Beyond Sidewalk Supervision- Mansfield
DESCRIPTION:This event is free of charge for NCTF member counties (Bradford\, Clinton\, Columbia\, Lycoming\, Montour\, Northumberland\, Potter\, Sullivan\, Tioga\, and Union) \nLunch will be provided. \nTarget Audience-Officers (Lieutenants and up) \nENHANCING THE COMMAND OF THE INCIDENT \nFor large departments fortunate enough to have a robust response of suppression forces and command staff\, strong command is often not a burden. However for the the smaller career\, combination\, and volunteer systems we are constantly challenged to do more with less at the suppression level as well as the command level-but are responsible for achieving the same results and safety as the larger systems. \nThe program provides a candid view of the challenges and real world responsibilities of incident commanders\, safety officer\, staff aides and division supervisors in departments who cannot muster large numbers of command staff officers. This program also defines command position need and the almost mandatory use of adequately trained persons to fill out the leading roles during structural fires\, special operations calls\, and for the day to day unusual incidents. \nCLASS DETAILS \nThis program looks at the deadly cocktails of trends that lead to fireground injuries and deaths\, focusing on how the adaptation of a planned command staff policy could make the difference. It includes knowledge that an incident commander of subsequent command staff can provide any number of unusual instances to provide oversight. Further\, the program digs deeper into the control side which often is not defined or discussed in any way. \nWith today’s aggressive & fast paced fireground\, the more sets of eyes looking at the strategy and safety\, the better. This program focuses on identifying and developing predetermined methods to make the fireground less chaotic. We’ll provide solutions to find mutual aid agreements and to solve training and management safety issues that are faced on most fire grounds. The end objective is to foster development and planning before we are striking three alarms\, and defeating the ensuing chaos that usually arrives at the same time. \nCOURSE HIGHLIGHTS \n\nWhy incident managers are saturated with obstacles.\nObjectives of incident management and command control systems.\nDiscuss NIOSH identified issues that departments need to plan for via policy\, directive\, and training.\nFireground effectiveness while ensuring safe operations.\nPeer command concepts defined.\nAdoption of redefined safety officer job description.\nAdoption of divisional systems to break incidents down to manageable pieces.\nIncident management failures that could be avoided with preparation.
