DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the NCTF 2025 Symposium at the Pine Barn Inn\, in Danville. \nTopics/presenters for this year! \nKey Note: “Platte Canyon High School Debrief and Moving the School Safety Needle”- Kevin Burd- Training Director\, “I Love U Guys” Foundation; Stacy Avila- Jefferson County SWAT Hostage Negotiator (ret.) \nAvila discusses the events of the September 27\, 2006 Platte Canyon High School shooting\, the loss of Emily Keyes\, and how the final words communicated to her family has led to over 50\,000 schools\, businesses\, organizations\, and departments to adopt common terminology during a crisis.  \nUsing lessons learned from Active Shooter events to make our communities safer\, Burd provides an overview of data from 2000 to present and how we can utilize that data to improve safety in our schools\, businesses\, houses of worship\, and community events. \n“They Don’t Just Wander: The Keys to a Successful Search for an Autistic Individual.” – Captain Gerald Turning Jr.- President\, Blue Bridge\, LLC \nAn autistic individual who goes missing is one of the most critical situations facing a first responder or SAR professional.
